FUMC Missions

We feel called to be the hands and feet of Christ, walking alongside our brothers & sister in ministry and in need in our church, community, state, nation, and around the world. The prayer of our hearts is to constantly be listening and following where the spirit leads us.

We support the following with our prayers, finances, and talents:

Local/community organizations:
  1. Osceola Christian Ministry Center (Daily Bread) - a daily outreach program that provides meals, clothing, showers, groceries, medical and dental care free of charge.
  1. H.O.M.E. (Helping Other Make the Effort) - providing housing and life skills to homeless women and their children.
  1. Help Now - provides temporary safe shelter for survivors of domestic abuse facing imminent danger.
  1. Community Hope Center - program-based project that impacts the low-income, poverty level families and individuals living in and around Osceola County, Florida.
International organizations:
  1. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) - dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. UMCOR’s work includes programs and projects in disaster response, health, sustainable agriculture, food security, relief supplies, and more.
  1. International Christian Development Mission (ICDM), Haiti - provides: food, shelter, clothing, education for children, literacy training for adults, clean drinking water, health & healing ministries, employment, and micro-business opportunities.
  1. Japan Missionaries - Jonathan and Satomi McCurley
    • Our team consists of laity, clergy, and those who are Early Response Team (ERT) certified to respond to natural disasters.
